October Jewelry TRENDS "We Want More"

So last month the biggest trend for jewelry was layering bracelets "stacking them" well ladies this month is "We want more". It is definitely a powerful statement but lets break it down. The biggest trend for October is layering jewelry, wearing statement big pieces , and mixing metals. It a great and fun way to experiment with your jewelry to see which necklaces look good together and make clusters of sets to wear.
So let first start with layering necklaces... by taking a few pendants and layering them at different lengths is gives a whole different allusion making the outfit 100% different if you were to wear it with just one pendant. It enhances the outfit because you can either pull out different colors and bring them out more or you can just give the outfit a whole different dimension. The picture to the left is two examples of layering pendants. I personally love this cluster because they are simple delicate necklaces separate but when you put them all together its a great  statement. The women is wearing the same shirt but they are two totally different looks. The one on the left is absolutely beautiful chic look with a twist of edginess with the sharp shapes. While the one on the the right is a more organic feeling to the outfit more free-er...  that allusion comes from that one long pendant hanging lower then the rest.
The next trend is wearing statement pieces. With wearing statement pieces you show a lot of confidence and leadership. There are tons of different statement pieces, either way the statement is "go big go bold". Some statement pieces are extremely colorful or they can have bigger stones and links. A statement piece is going to be bigger then your normal necklaces you have, they are more on the larger size and can be more bulky. Statement necklaces are more worn when there is a swoop neck or a low neck, it is not that much suggested to wear with high necked tops or dresses such as turtle necks because they are to much clustered to the neck. This piece i chose on the right is definitely a statement piece but its more of an everyday wear statement piece. The toughness of the chains intertwined is softened up beautifully by the pearl accents. This necklace looks like a modern vintage look.
Mixing metals is a a big trend so don't be afraid to just sticking with gold or silver mix it up a little. Some designers are even creating pieces that have mixed metals in there pieces.  The example that i have on the left  shows four different necklaces. I'm going to describe the jewelry first from top to bottom.. the first necklace it a silver chain with a silver crystallized circle pendant. The second necklace is a gold chain and a silver crystallized flower pendant. The third necklace is a gold chain medium size with edgy triangles  hanging from the chain. The final forth necklace is a large thick gold chain. All together the cluster of necklaces have an innocent delicate look with an edgy rocker feel to it , but all of them can work together and enhance the outfit.
Hopefully with all these tips and information of Octobers jewelry trends it can help you experiment with your own jewelry and see what you can create.

G Spa at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino

My visit at the G Spa at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino felt like a luxury trip. I have visited other spas before but right now this one has made number one on my list. Walking into the the MGM Grand I was greeted and welcomed very kindly.Since I have never been to the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino I did not know where the spa was located. The front door gentleman was so kind he pointed me in the direction I needed to go.  I was in awe of how beautiful everything was as I walked toward the spa, having a few shops and cafes along the way to look at.
The G Spa is owned by Gretta Monahan, Gretta is a beauty and fashion stylist who first started as a hair dresser. Since she had broaden her horizons she has appeared on Rachel's Ray cooking/talk show a few time in the past few years. Gretta recently came out with a new book called "Style and the Successful Girl". In the book she talks about how style can fit into everyone's life no matter if your famous of just a stay home mom. (http://www.grettastyle.com/ ).
When I finally reached the third floor of the Hotel where the Spa was located I was welcomed not only by the heartwarming staff but a beautiful fragrance of citrus orange and ginger. I had the pleasure of getting treated from my mom where we made appointments to get our nails done. In the mean time they walked us into the Ladies Facility's. We were given lockers where we could put our things and have them locked up safely for the day. I loved the lockers at this spa because they were huge and so roomy compared to other Spas. The Ladies Facility staff gave us robes and slippers that were warm and soft. My mother and I quickly changed into our robs and instantly we were relaxed. The staff asked us if we have been to the spa before... we replied "no" where she then gave us a tour of the facility.
The women showed us the different parts of the Spa. The Spa is split up into five sections... the workout room, the salon, the pool/bathing area, the Ladies Facility, and finally the Mens Facility. The work out room  was roomy and has the most updated work out equipment. The work out room contained about forty weightlifting machine, seven treadmills, two bikes, and three elliptical machines. On the side they had complimentary waters and towels for the guests of the spa. Next we were shown the salon where they had few manicure tabled, two pedicure chairs, and the hair salon chairs on the side. The women then brought us into the the pool/bathing room where a breathe taking view of the New England's foliage was over looked through the windows of the horizon . I loved the lounge chairs in the pool area the cushions were so comfortable. Then we ended our tour back in the ladies facility where she had shown us where the changing rooms, bathrooms, relaxation center, and jacuzzi/steam room/sauna was.
After the tour my mother and I went to the jacuzzi area where the G Spa has a Hydrotherapy treatment called "East meets West. The treatment was so inspirational  of shocking your inner Chakra to release negative energy and gaining your positive energy back by using water. The treatment had four steps waterfall whirlpool where it loosens and releases, steam room where the body detoxifies, raindrop shower where everything is washed off, then the sauna where you relax and unwind.
The first step was the Waterfall Whirlpool where you shocked your Chakra with the energy path of the water fall. You first stand under the waterfall have the energy path of the waterfall move along down your spine. Creating this channel along your spine you wake up your Chakra. It starts creating your energy flow to move in one single channel. You then sit in the whirlpool to get stirred up, the jets along you body disturb the negative energy making it want to be releases.
The second step is the steam room where the negative energy and
toxins are releases out of your body. Before entering the steam room you grab an iced towel and spray eucalyptus on the towel and place it over your head. Walking into the steam room and relaxing will release the negative energy and toxin in your body. And the yin and yang of the warmness of your body and coolness of your head makes the positive energy start to grow while the negative energy and toxins leave. I personally closed my eyes and meditated a little just sitting in my inner being and keeping myself relaxed.
At this stage when you feel you are relaxed and replenished with positive energy you then go to the third step of a Raindrop shower. The raindrop shower is to wash away all the negative energy and toxins off your body having the positive energy  grow even more. Now the surprising part is that the raindrop shower is not warm its more on the cooler side to wake everything up giving you energy and washing off sluggish negative toxins lingering.
Then finally is the last step of the Sauna  where positive energy reacts fully in your body creating a channel throughout your Chakra having you relaxed and refreshed. The dry heat goes deep into muscles and joints preparing them for the new channel of energy that will run through them for now on instead of the negative energy and toxins before.

After doing the Hydrotherapy treatment my mom and I went to the relaxation center where we had some spicy an sweet trail mix and I had the most juiciest pair. In the relaxation center we waited for the staff to come get us to get our nails done.Once they got us they walked us back to the salon my mom got her hands done while i got my toes done. I choose a berry red color with an accent of gold shimmer in it, the color looked absolutely beautiful on my toes.
Once our nails were dried we then sat at the pool/bathing area where we ordered salads and had water with lemon. I had a apple harvest salad. In the salad it had classic spring greens and baby spinach, granny smith apples, feta cheese, beats, tomatoes, carrots, walnuts, and dries cranberries. For the dressing it was a honey ginger dressing, it was bursting with flavor with every bite.
Once we were done eating we did another round of the hydrotherapy treatment and swam a little in the pool. We then took showers where we had our hair smelling like key lime pie with there complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The shower was even amazing because the towels were warm in a towel warmer and the shower had six shower heads. In the end it was a great luxury trip that I absolutely loved.
I was so amazed by the hotel I managed to take a few picture of the beautiful lighting in the lobby. I will definitely say I will personally go back and visit again.

The Magic to Flawless Makeup

Sometime we put on all our make up and we feel like it does not look right, or by the end of the day it looked like we sweated it all off. Whats the secret to a flawless makeup look? Do fashion gurus just keep reapplying through out the day?
The main secret is Primer, many cosmetic lines have some type of primer and there are tons of different kinds out there that work with different skin tones and skin types. You personally have to try them out yourself to see which one looks better on your skin.
Primer is kinda like a foundation or tinted moisturizer it goes on your skin very thin to give you a blank canvas to create this masterpiece along your face. You apply primer first then continue on with your normal makeup routine noticing that it looks brighter and smoother. Some primers come in shades of nude colors but most come out in a white color and when you blend it into your skin it looks clear.  Primers hydrate your face giving the moisture it needs and clears up any blemish that you might have on your face.
Right now my personal favorite primer is by No7 called Beautifully Matte Makeup base primer. The primer is a white color and blends in clear. The reason why I love this primer is because it is Hypo-allergenic and sometime my skin can be a pain in the butt and get irritated, so instead this primer kind of keeps everything calm. The second reason why I love this primer is because since I have a combination skin type I personal love a matte finish instead of a dewy finish. This primer sets my make up perfect where it looks more natural on my skin. The primer does not really have a smell the one I used prier to finding this one smelt like peppermint and roses making my skin smell amazing but other than that I love this primer making my face nice and smooth.

Not Just Beauty but Inner Beauty

Sometime we get lost in our self with the influence of the world. We curl or straighten our hair, we put make up on, wear tons of different clothes to create an appearance that is acceptable to the world so we can classify our self as beautiful. But the true beauty is your inner beauty, and to find that inner beauty you sometimes need to step back and take a moment and meditate, pray, or reflect on your life and find the best qualities of yourself.
I personally had a hard time time to become beautiful I thought that my make up, hair, and clothes would make me perfect but honestly it was my inner beauty that shines throughout my smile, motions, and my characteristics. Once i found what I was good at and what i loved and enjoyed i realized my honest inner beauty would shine through even brighter.
So stand in front of  a mirror and look at your self and tell your self at least three thing that are characteristics that you have that shine through you (example would be like your are smart, your outgoing, and your creative) try this for a week and watch how people will start noticing a difference in you. The will ask "is something different about you" and honestly its just you discovering your inner beauty.
In this world we can be around negative environments and by giving our self that extra positive feed back everyday for a week it gives us an extra skip in our step attracting more positive people, events, and environment in our life.

The Healthy Glow

Now ladies you might not like to hear it but Water is key to our body. Water hydrates the body in many ways , and by drink water it can help with a lot of things. Now as a kid i hated drinking water I thought the taste was bland and it was gross. But after reading so many articles and videos about it I'm trying to make it my new best friend. Now water helps in so many ways but I'm just going to discus the skin in this blog post. Water hydrates the skin giving it the nourishment it needs to stay hydrated but also replenish what ever it needs to have for that healthy glow radiant look.
Now your probably like Rachel Water still taste bland how can I make it be best friend if i don't like the taste cause its not tingling my taste buds. Well first thing is temperature, the temperature that you have your water can make a big difference. By having your water at a cooler temperature the water tastes more crisp and refreshing then warm or room temperature water . The next great big difference is having a water filter, you can purchase a water filter at Walmart or Target that can go right on your faucet  but there are even pitchers that have filters in it that you stick in the fridge  which makes the water taste fresh.
Now the last thing is adding flavor, what I have noticed by putting in powders or syrup such as crystal light or mio you are defeating the purpose. Instead or putting powders or syrups in  our drinks how about putting some fresh fruit in the water and have the flavors infuse together create a new refreshing drink that is all water and some fruit (booth are healthy for you and will help your skin) Some fruits and vegetable will also add help with the skin care .
Some things that are good for your skin that you can put in your water are apples, citrus fruits, cucumbers and carrots, and berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries). Citrus fruits are not just know from weight-loss but are also know to clear up acne. Apples are great for illuminating your skin and making it look like you have a glow to your skin. Cucumbers and carrots bring great moisture to the skin leaving it healthy and flawless. And finally berries are great for reducing extra oils to the skin and strengthening hair. I personally do have to say the cucumber one does tastes a little different but tastes the most refreshing.
(also one good tip is make sure the fruit and vegetables are well rinsed before cutting them up and placing them in your water to infuse)

Top Fall trends for 2013

So being trendy is a big thing not just in the fashion community but in any women/girls mind, so the most top trends right now for fall is black and white, maxi glam, mixed metals, cuffs and layering, and go big or go bold.
First lets start with black and white, every women always has that little black dress she has in her closet that she pulls out once in a while to wear out in the town. So your probably asking is black and white ever going to go out of fashion. To be honest no one really know the reason why black and white never stop being trendy because black and white goes with everything no matter what season it is. The strict statement color can be mixed and matched and used with practically anything.
Maxi glam and go big or go bold kinda go together in a way. Right now to be wearing bright pops of color and big statement jewelry or statement dresses/shirts will create a eye catcher where you can strut you stuff and show your personality in a big bold way. An example would be wearing a normal white t-shirt with a pair of normal jeans but you throw in a bright colored necklace or belt and just that little touch screams out a statement.
One of the biggest trend with jewelry is wearing mixed metals and combining the silvers and gold to get a more edgy modern chic look to your outfits. By layering more and more bracelet, rings, and pendants it adds more to an outfit giving it character and creativity.
Hopes this info helps on the next time you walk out of the house looking trendy, modern and classy.
(I gave David a new trendy layered Fall look: in this photo he is wearing standard jeans, collar white shirt, gray and black striped sweater, and a gray rain jumper from G.A.P.)

Review of Fashion Week for New York, London, Paris, Milan 2013/2014

Feathers, Pastels, and Floral patters where mostly found in this year 2013/2014 fashion weeks. Only a few designers showed the feathers in some of there elaborate clothing while others stayed near the pink and purple pastels which show the color of this year spring collection. I personal love spring collection because my favorite colors are anything Pastel. But the big shocker for this year fashion weeks was the floral vintage patterns that was displayed through out quiet a few designer collection to represent the spring blooming. In the fashion industry the saying is "go big go bold" so some of the designer that showed these amazing majestic floral patters where Valentino, Lanvin, Erden, and Givenchy. All those designers did express some floral patter but every designer had a different floral pattern set. Valentino had a more mid-evil floral tapestry where vines and leave and flowers where placed all through out the pattern. Lanvin had a more modem appliqued rose in the fabric of his clothing just showcasing the single flower in the clothe. Erden had a type of twist in his floral patter by not just showcasing different floral pattern but also  in vines leaves and sugar snap peas and grapes. Givenchy showcased a gypsy rose print that was elegant a beautiful.
What I found most interesting was that similar tweed style clothing with plaid and matte patterns found in several designers which you would find more in a fall collection then a spring collection. Within the tweed outfits in the collections where very conservative pieces having high neck/chest clothing not showing cleavage or barely any chest. Most of the cuts where edgy and straight not much  loose and flowey looking clothing.

October

Its Finally October
My two favorite season int he year is spring and fall and now that it is October i know the weather will start to feel like it is fall. I love the colors of the leaves that come out in fall and now that I'm brunette I'm definitely going to need to get some portrait pictures of myself. My and my dad have this tradition where we drive to the castle that's in New England. The castle is high on top of the cliff and it looks over a mass amount of area and the view is to beautiful with the orange and yellow color leaves its just breathe taking.
